3 days mountains tour
Overview
Jabal Akhdar (The Green Mountain)
Located in Oman’s Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, Jabal Akhdar is one of the country’s most stunning natural landmarks. Known for its cool climate and dramatic mountain landscapes, it offers lush agricultural terraces that produce seasonal fruits like pomegranates, peaches, and apricots, as well as the famous Omani roses used in rosewater distillation. The mountain is perfect for hiking, nature walks, and eco-tourism, with charming traditional villages nestled along the cliffs offering a glimpse into authentic Omani mountain life.
Nizwa
Often referred to as the “Pearl of Islam,” Nizwa is a historic city that was once a center for education, religion, and trade. Located in the heart of Oman, it is home to the iconic Nizwa Fort, with its massive circular tower offering panoramic views of the city. Nizwa also features a bustling traditional souq where visitors can shop for Omani silver, handicrafts, and fresh produce. The city’s rich heritage and well-preserved architecture make it a key destination for cultural and historical exploration.
Jibreen
The village of Jabreen is famous for its magnificent Jabreen Castle, a 17th-century architectural masterpiece built during the rule of Imam Bil’arab bin Sultan. Unlike other forts built primarily for defense, Jabreen Castle was designed as a center of learning and residence, showcasing intricate wooden carvings, decorative ceilings, and beautifully designed rooms. The castle offers a deep insight into Omani architectural elegance and scholarly life in the past.
Al Hamra
Al Hamra is one of Oman’s oldest and most atmospheric villages, known for its centuries-old mud-brick houses and peaceful charm. It is home to Bait Al Safah, a restored traditional house turned living museum that showcases the everyday life of Omanis in the past. Just nearby is Misfat Al Abriyeen, a picturesque village nestled in the mountains with narrow lanes, lush date plantations, and ancient falaj irrigation systems.
